Right of withdrawal for consumers

(A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly outside his or her trade, business or profession).

Right of revocation

The right of cancellation does not apply to insurance contracts with a term of less than one month (Section 8 (3) VVG). In the case of insurance contracts with a term of one month or more, you may revoke your contractual declaration in text form (e.g. letter, fax, e-mail) within 30 days without stating reasons. The period shall commence after you have received the insurance policy, the contractual provisions including the General Terms and Conditions of Insurance, the further information pursuant to Section 7 (1) and (2) of the German Insurance Contract Act (Versicherungsvertragsgesetz) in conjunction with Sections 1 to 4 of the German Regulation on Information Duties (WG-Informationspflichtenverordnung) and this instruction, in each case in text form, but not before we have fulfilled our obligations pursuant to Section 312 i (1) sentence 1 of the German Civil Code (BGB) in conjunction with Article 246 c of the Introductory Act to the German Civil Code (Einführungsgesetz zum Bürgerlichen Gesetzbuch). The timely dispatch of the revocation is sufficient to meet the revocation deadline.

Consequences of revocation

In the event of an effective revocation, insurance coverage will end and we will refund the portion of the premiums attributable to the period after receipt of the revocation if you agreed that insurance coverage would begin before the end of the revocation period. In this case, we may retain the part of the premium attributable to the period up to receipt of the revocation. Any amounts to be refunded will be reimbursed immediately, at the latest 30 days after receipt of the revocation. If the insurance cover does not commence before the end of the revocation period, the effective revocation shall result in the return of benefits received and the surrender of benefits derived (e.g. interest).

Special notes

Your right of revocation shall expire if the contract has been completely fulfilled by both you and us at your express request before you have exercised your right of revocation.
