When will I receive the insurance confirmation number (eVB)?
Immediately upon receipt of payment.
If it takes longer, or if you have not received any messages from us at all, please contact us.
How long is the insurance confirmation (eVB) valid?
The electronic insurance confirmation (eVB) is valid for 12 days.
After that, it will automatically expire.
What do I do after I have received the eVB?
Take the eVB (and your documents) to the vehicle registration office. Your vehicle will then be registered there.
Which vehicle type must I choose?

From when is the insurance confirmation valid?
The eVB is activated immediately after purchase and can be used for registration. You can therefore purchase the eVB online on-site at your registration office and use it immediately.
For how many vehicles can the insurance confirmation (eVB) be used?
The insurance applies to a single vehicle and is tied to it.

Admission
Does the vehicle require a valid roadworthiness certificate (HU/TÜV)?
Yes, your vehicle must have a valid HU (general inspection) for you to be permitted to participate in road traffic.
If the HU has expired or is otherwise invalid, the vehicle may no longer be driven.
From when is the temporary license plate valid?
The short-term license plate becomes valid once the insurance has been activated at the vehicle registration office. You may therefore set off on the same day, and the insurance will subsequently expire automatically.
You need these documents to register a short-term license plate.
For registration, you must present the following documents.
- Registration certificate
- ID card or passport with certificate of registration
- MOT documents
- Insurance confirmation (eVB number)
- Vehicle registration document/certificate of title
If you are a company or an association, you should bring your business registration or proof of association.
If you are registering on behalf of a third party, you must bring a signed power of attorney.
You will receive the insurance confirmation (eVB number) from us once you have taken out your insurance with us.
Do you have to print the green card on green paper?
No.
The term “Green Card” has historical origins, so it can also be printed on regular (white) paper if you wish to carry your insurance documents with you.
You will receive the insurance documents by email and can save them on your smartphone to have them handy at all times.
Order
Does the insurance card still need to be activated?
No, we already handle that fully automatically, saving you that extra effort. This means that the insurance card is already equipped with an EVB and can be used immediately. You do not need to do anything further for this.
Free cancellation
Cancellation of an unused insurance confirmation (eVB) is free of charge with us. Please send an email or a message via our contact form.
Here is how the cancellation works
You haven't used the EVB? No problem.
Just send us a short message with your order number and we will confirm receipt of your cancellation request.
Once the EVB becomes invalid (currently 12 days), we will cancel it and you will receive a refund. An earlier refund is unfortunately not possible, as we must first wait for the status of the EVB usage.
You are welcome to notify us before the EVB expires. We will take care of everything else for you.
I have not received an SMS or email; what can I do?
You have two options:
- Please check whether the payment has failed or still needs to be authorized by you.
- Perhaps you forgot to enter your phone number or made a typo? If so, please check your email inbox (including your spam folder). Alternatively, you can check the order overview on our website.
- In all other cases, please contact us. We will take care of making the documents available to you as quickly as possible.
Will I also receive the insurance card or the eVB by mail?
No, but you can print out the insurance card yourself and take it with you.
Is the physical short-term registration plate included as well?
No, you must purchase the short-term license plates on-site.
Where can you get short-term license plates?
You can obtain the plates for the temporary registration directly from the on-site plate manufacturer. We exclusively sell the eVB (electronic insurance confirmation) or the insurance for this purpose and do not ship any license plates.
